baby one more time
January 15, 1999
"...Baby One More Time" is the debut single from pop singer Britney Spears, released from her debut album ...Baby One More Time during the fourth quarter of 1998. Many consider it to be Spears' signature song, along with "Oops!... I Did It Again."
Sometimes
June 29, 1999
The track is a classic example of a pop ballad about love and its symptoms, as Spears declares "sometimes I run, sometimes I hide, sometimes I'm scared of you." Spears said on her Onyx Hotel Tour that she didn't like that song anyway during the last minute of "(I Got That) Boom Boom". This was taken as a joke by fans.
Crazy
September 29, 1999
In 2000, it was nominated for a MTV Video Music Award in the category of Best Dance Video. The entire concept was Spears' idea. It was also the beginning of Spears' "image makeover" as she began to dress in skimpier and sexier outfits as compared to her previous videos, "Sometimes" and "...Baby One More Time".
Born to Make you Happy
December 6, 1999
The original concept was to portray Spears in a dream, lamenting over her ex-lover, by whom she was secretly pregnant with their child, but Jive immediately withdrew the idea once it was leaked to the public and received negative reception. Directed by Billie Woodruff in Los Angeles, the music video for "Born to Make You Happy" begins with a shot of Spears sleeping. In her dream she is sitting in a futuristic room with several different levels. Following this part of the video, Spears appears atop the apartment building where this room is found, performing a dance segment in a red top and black skirt. The last part of the dream has her love interest come to her room to see her. The video concludes with the pair having a pillow fight.
Bottom of My Broken Heart
Feburary 1, 2000
The song was written and produced by Eric Foster White. In this melancholy love ballad, Spears recalls her first love and how she wishes it hadn't ended, as her true emotions are revealed "from the bottom of my broken heart." The song was excluded from Spears' greatest hits album Greatest Hits: My Prerogative, for reasons unknown.
Oops!... I Did it Again
August 8, 2000
"Oops!" is generally perceived as one of Spears' signature songs by the media and public, partially due to it becoming one of her most successful singles, but also because it, similarly to "...Baby One More Time", has become one of the most famous singles of the teen pop revival at the turn of the Millennium. The music video for this song also ranks among her most famous, and began to more openly express a sexually-provocative Spears.
Lucky
August 15, 2000
Lucky is the second single from Pop singer Britney Spears' album Oops!... I Did It Again. It was released during the third quarter of 2000.

The song was primarily written and produced by Max Martin and Rami, and is about an actress, who despite being very "lucky" and seemingly having it all - fame, wealth, beauty, is truly lonely on the inside for unknown reasons ("If there's nothing missing in my life, then why do these tears come at night?").
Stronger
November 30, 2000
The single is recognised by many as the unofficial sequel to "...Baby One More Time" 's song lyric "...my loneliness is killing me..." because Spears declares: "...my loneliness ain't killing me no more...".
Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know
April 3, 2001
"Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know" was arguably Britney's first flop single, as the song failed to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Britney's 1st single not to peak within the Top 25 of the Billboard Hot 100. It did, however, make a short appearance on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart, reaching a peak of number twelve, which would be equivalent to number 112 on the Hot 100, if the chart ran past one-hundred places.
I'm a Slave for 4 U
October 23, 2001
It is often considered a developmental milestone in Spears' career because of the single's steamy music video, somewhat raunchy lyrics and slight urban origins. The single is probably most well-known for the aforementioned video, which more fully redefined the then 19-year-old's public image from the virginal "girl next door" to a powerful woman.
Overprotected
December 8, 2001
At this point in Spears' career, "Overprotected" was probably only second to "Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know" in terms of least international success. Although it wasn't a complete flop, it missed the top ten in most countries. It was received well in the United Kingdom debuting at five and moving up to four in its second week. The single sold 124,000 copies. The single has sold worldwide 2 milions copies.
I'm not a Girl, not yet a Woman
Feburary 5, 2002
Though "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman" was meant to help promote Crossroads, the single flopped and it failed to chart on the Billboard Hot 100; it did, however, appear on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart at a peak of number two, which would be equivalent to number 102 if the Hot 100 ran past one-hundred ranks.
Anticipating
May 22, 2002
Having no time to shoot a proper music video for "Anticipating", the performance from the Live from Las Vegas concert was used in place of a video. This is the very first music video of Spears in which she performs live. In it, Britney and her female performers dance around the stage in colorful outfits. Then, Britney hops into a pink car and encourages the audience to sing along. The video was originally intended to be an animated video, featuring a cartoon Britney cruising around Paris (because of its release in France) in a convertible.
I Love Roll and Roll
June 1, 2002
"I Love Rock 'n' Roll" became Spears' biggest commercial failure as the single failed to make the top ten in most countries. However, the track was not a total flop as it made at least top forty placement in most regions. "I Love Rock 'N Roll" was successful in the UK, where it peaked at number thirteen (which is, in fact, her "lowest"-charting single there). The single sold a total of 51,000 copies.W A U.S. release was scheduled, but the plans were eventually scrapped.
Boys
August 13, 2002
Although "Boys" was meant to be Spears' comeback single in the U.S. after the failure of the rest of the releases from the Britney album (aside from the modest hit "I'm a Slave 4 U"), it ended up flopping harder than any of her previous singles.
Me Against the Music
October 20, 2003
"Me Against the Music" was marketed to become Spears' comeback single after a year-long hiatus from the music scene and no substantial U.S. hits since 2001. While the song didn't break records of any sorts, it made Spears' musical presence known once again.
Toxic
Feburary 4, 2004
"Toxic" is a dance-pop song written by Bloodshy & Avant, Cathy Dennis, and Henrik Jonback for Britney Spears' fourth studio album In the Zone (2003). The song describes having an affair with a married man. It was released as the album's second single in early 2004 (see 2004 in music). "Toxic" enjoyed international success, topping many singles charts. The song was chosen as the second favorite song of the world (all time) in a global survey made by Sony Ericsson, in which 700,000 music fans of 66 countries contributed, behind "We Are the Champions" by Queen.

November 1, 2004
Britney Spears' cover was not successful in the United States, failing to chart in the Billboard Hot 100, managing only to peak at number one on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles. However, her version did peak at number two on the Hot Digital Tracks, and at number one or the top ten in several countries.

Someday
October 11, 2005
"Someday (I Will Understand)" was generally very well-received by contemporary pop music critics. Billboard commented that Spears' "vocals relate the greatful time of a new born baby and future life a a child", and that "this potential song" has "a melody and lush production that carries the song into the clouds.[1] Blogcritics claims that song's "slow opening to a soft piano all the way to the spine-tingling bridge" is "one weeper of a ballad", and that Britney's "power-belting" vocals were "better than ever". Top 40 reviewer Bill Lamb gave the song five stars, saying "a single piano with the backing of strings gives way to one of the most technically stunning voices in pop music singing words of enjoyment, and the life a a born one." He continues on, predicting the song would edge near to "the top of the pop singles chart by the middle of 2005.". This is the first time since Everytime and Shadow from the album In the Zone that Britney Spears recives posite reviews for a ballad.

Piece of Me
January 7, 2008
I'm Miss American Dream since I was 17
Don't matter if I step on the scene
Or sneak away to the Philippines
They're still gonna take pictures of my derriere in the magazine
You want a piece of me?
You want a piece of me...
I'm Miss bad media karma
Another day another drama
Guess I can't see the harm
In working and being a mama
And with a kid on my arm
I'm still an exceptional earner
And you want a piece of me
