Reid was born in Wyckoff, New Jersey, the daughter of Donna and Tom Reid, both of whom are teachers and day care center owners. Reid has Irish, Italian, French, Hungarian, and English heritage. She attended Dwight D. Eisenhower Middle School, then went to Ramapo High School and graduated while attending Barnstable Academy, a performing arts-centric school. Both high schools were in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey (Barnstable is now in Oakland, N.J.).
She has a younger sister, Colleen, and two brothers, Tom and Patrick (who is a twin of Colleen). Reid grew up in New Jersey.
Begins Career at Age 6

Reid began her career at the age of six in 1982 on the game show, Child's Play. As a child, she had roles in a number of commercials for McDonald's, Crayola, and Jell-O. She grew up in New York City, and attended the Professional Children's School alongside such celebrities as Christina Ricci, Ben Taylor, Jerry O'Connell, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Macaulay Culkin.
The Big Lebowski

American Pie

Tara's Breakthrough Role was in the first "American Pie", cast as Vicky Lathum, who refuses to have sex with her boyfriend unless everything is perfect.
The movie is centered on four boys who make a pact to lose their virginity by their high school graduation, and their subsequent adventures. As the theatrical poster implies, the title of the movie refers to a scene in the film in which the lead character is caught having sex with a pie after earlier being told that "third base" feels "like warm apple pie". It was a box-office hit and spawned two direct sequels: American Pie 2 in 2001, American Wedding in 2003. Singer Don McLean was credited for allowing the name of his hit song to be used as the title.
This film ranked number 49 on Bravo's "100 Funniest Movies", and ranked number 22 on Entertainment Weekly's list of the 50 Best High School Movies. In 2000, readers of Total Film magazine voted American Pie the 6th greatest comedy film of all time.
Josie and the Pussycats

Carson Daly made a cameo appearance in Josie and the Pussycats, in which Reid played the Pussycat Melody, which began a brief romance culminating in a marriage proposal. In June 2001, Reid and Daly broke off their engagement. She previously had dated Russian hockey star, Sergei Fedorov. In the late 1990s she dated actor Steve Burton and still is close to him and his family. She briefly dated football players Tom Brady, Jeremy Shockey, Kyle Boller and tennis player Mark Philippoussis.
Jose and the Pussycats was released by Universal Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. It was directed by Harry Elfont and Deborah Kaplan. Tara plays Melody Valentine, an absent-minded blonde who co-founded and drums the Pussycats. The film is loosely based upon the Archie comic of the same name, which had been adapted into a Saturday morning cartoon by Hanna-Barbera in 1970.
American Pie 2

American Pie 2 is the 2001 sequel to the comedy film American Pie. It was written by Adam Herz (characters, story, screenplay) and David H. Steinberg (story), and directed by James B. Rogers. It is the second film in the American Pie Presents series. The film picks up the story of the four friends from the first film as they reunite during the summer after their first year of college. It was released in the United States on August 10, 2001, and grossed over $145 million in the USA and $142 million overseas on a budget of $30 million. Its sequel is American Wedding (2003).
Scrubs

Scrubs is an Emmy and Peabody Award-winning American situation comedy/comedy-drama that premiered on October 2, 2001, on NBC. It was created by Bill Lawrence and is produced by ABC Studios (which operated as Touchstone Television at the beginning of the series).
Tara spoofed her own party animal image, playing Danni Sullivan — J.D.'s promiscuous girlfriend and younger sister of Jordan Sullivan in 11 episodes.
The show focuses on the professional and personal lives of several characters working at Sacred Heart, a teaching hospital. It features verbose characters, slapstick, fast-paced dialogue, and surreal vignettes which are presented as the daydreams of the central character, Dr. John "J.D." Michael Dorian, and later the other main characters.
Wardrobe Malfunction

On the night of November 4, 2004, Reid was embarrassed at a highly-publicized photo shoot at Puff Daddy's 35th birthday party at Cipriani's Restaurant in New York City, when her dress fell, exposing her left breast. Photos of Reid having larger, perkier breasts than before had been circulating the Internet for several months before the incident, igniting rumors of Reid having undergone a breast augmentation. Scar tissue was visible around Reid's nipple, confirming rumors of breast implants.
The photographs were widely distributed. In August 2005, she publicly admitted getting breast augmentation surgery.[citation needed] In October 2006, she admitted in an interview with Us Weekly that she also had liposuction. In the interview she also discusses how her plastic surgery "went wrong," and also explains why she decided to have plastic surgery done, saying that her breasts were uneven and that she had saggy skin. In the same interview, Reid's new plastic surgeon, Dr. Steven Svehlak, reported that he performed a procedure called a doughnut mastopexy to correct her original breast augmentation.
Alone in the Dark

Alone in the Dark is a 2005 Brightlight Pictures horror film very loosely based on Infogrames' popular video game series of the same name. It is directed by Uwe Boll, and stars Christian Slater as supernatural detective Edward Carnby. The film's tagline is Evil Awakens.
Tara plays a character named Aline Cedrac - An archaeologist and museum curator. In the newest version of the film virtually all of the scenes with Reid in them have been removed by Director Boll himself
Upon its release, Alone in the Dark received poor reviews from critics and video game devotees alike. It grossed $2,834,421 in its opening weekend.
The Crow: Wicked Prayer

The Crow: Wicked Prayer was the fourth movie based on The Crow comic by James O'Barr. It was directed by Lance Mungia, inspired by the Norman Partridge novel. It had a one week theatrical premiere on June 3, 2005 at AMC Pacific Place Theatre in Seattle, Washington before being released direct to video on July 19, 2005. Like the other sequels to cult movie, The Crow, it had a poor critical reception.
Tara plays the character of Lola Byrne, girlfriend of escaped convict and Satanist Luc Crash (played by David Boreanaz).
Taradise on TV

Taradise, her half-hour television show on the E! network, premiered in September 2005; This was a half-hour television show hosted by Reid. The show was centered on Tara's visits to other countries, such as Spain, Greece, Italy, France and Monaco, where she sampled the local cuisine, visited nightclubs, and shopped.
it was canceled the following year. The show was an updated incarnation of E!'s popular series Wild On, where a celebrity host or model traveled to exotic locations to party with locals. Previously during summer 2005, she was busy shooting Incubus in Romania at an assortment of clubs with Bucharest's local socialites. In January 2007, Reid filmed a commercial with Daniel Conn for Dodo, an Australian budget phone and Internet provider. Reid appeared in the September 2007 issue of FHM magazine.
New Years Countdown Malfunction

On New Year's Eve 2006, at a large celebration in Chicago, Reid made several numerical errors in hosting the minute-long countdown for the year. A video of the incident circled the Internet.
